Our History

Creative Consulting was founded by Ahmed and Bilkees Vawda in February 2007.  It has grown into a successful company which serves an increasing number of organisations and institutions.

In a few years, Creative Consulting has come to be recognised as a leading player in the field of qualifications and material design, skills development, training and knowledge transfer.

Managing Director: Ahmed Essop Vawda

Ahmed was formerly Deputy Director: Higher Education at the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). He has interacted with public and private higher education institutions including the Council on Higher Education (CHE), Higher Education South Africa (HESA), and the Department of Education. He also managed and had oversight of several Joint Implementation Plans (JIPs) at SAQA.

He is well-acquainted with legislation regarding General Education and Training (GET), Further Education and Training (FET), Higher Education and the National Skills Development Strategy.

Ahmed holds a Master in Education degree (MEd.) from the University of the Witwatersrand and has many qualifications.  He was teacher and principal for a number of years.  He was also the Examiner and Moderator for Arabic at National Senior Certificate Level for the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) and the Independent Examinations Board (IEB).

He has vast experience in educational management acquired through his principalship of two institutions, teaching and assessing English and Arabic, generating qualifications and standards, and writing learner material and facilitator guides.  Ahmed is also a qualification development facilitator registered with the QCTO.

Financial Director: Bilkees Banoo Vawda (Mrs)

In addition to managing the finances and administration processes she manages research projects, designs learning materials, edits documents and communicates with clients and stakeholders.

Bilkees was a senior administrator at the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) for almost five years. She has substantial experience in the banking and retail sectors.  She has also worked extensively in financial and administration matters.  She participated actively in policy review and development processes while on the Executive Committee of the Equity Forum and the Support Services Committee of the CSVR.

She is experienced in research and facilitation. She has outstanding skills in organising conferences and workshops and has experience in negotiating costs, managing budgets and co-ordinating all the necessary logistical arrangements.  She proof-read programme manuals and articles for the organisation.

Bilkees Banoo was the financial and administrative director of SB Linen and Haberdashery.

She is an excellent and creative designer, having obtained the Diploma in Fashion Design and Management.  She was the best part-time student at the college.
